Kate Johnson profile picture

Kate Johnson is an experimental filmmaker whose work is primarily in documentary with some abstract / art pieces. Her films are rapidly edited, fast paced and full of humour. She lives in North London with her family and much of her work involves the home mode and documenting her two small children. She has a First Class Honours degree in film theory and this is bourn out in her practice with an obvious interest in and attention to film language. Her dissertation piece screening at the show was filmed at her local Primary school in Palmers Green where her son attends and her current project is a campaign video for the NGO Campaign Against Arms Trade and is due to be released online on the 19th September 2009. She is hoping to secure a position as artist filmmaker in residence at Middlesex University and embark on a practice based PhD in the coming academic year.
